The 25th edition of the International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) Awards kicked off its journey in Mumbai with a dazzling press conference themed around Rajasthan’s rich cultural heritage. The milestone event, scheduled to take place in Jaipur, Rajasthan, from March 7 to March 9, 2025, promises a historic celebration of Indian cinema on a global stage.
A major highlight of the event was the announcement of the IIFA Green Challenge, an ambitious sustainability initiative in collaboration with Challenge for Green (CFG). Guided by Rajasthan’s Forest & Environment Ministry and supported by the Industry Ministry, the campaign reflects IIFA’s ongoing commitment to environmental conservation. As part of this initiative, a tree will be planted for every attendee—guests, celebrities, and ticket-buyers alike—culminating in the creation of the #IIFA25 Garden. This green tribute will honor IIFA’s legacy and its winners by immortalizing their achievements in nature.
The conference was graced by Bollywood icons Shah Rukh Khan, Kartik Aaryan, and Nora Fatehi, alongside Smt. Diya Kumari, Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister of Rajasthan, and IIFA co-founders Andre Timmins, Viraf Sarkari, and Sabbas Joseph.
As expected, Shah Rukh Khan charmed the audience with his wit and humor. Reflecting on his association with IIFA, he said, “I’ve had too much fun attending IIFA over the years. We’ve made some wonderful memories—some of them too wild to talk about!” On a more serious note, he expressed his admiration for the IIFA founders’ dedication, adding, “From the beginning till the end, they’ve always looked after us. Inshallah, I pray for them to continue taking Indian cinema global on a platform that makes us relevant.”
SRK also praised the decision to host the event in Jaipur. “There’s no better place than Rajasthan and Jaipur to celebrate this milestone. Aap sab ko amantran hai. Please join us and celebrate the Indian film industry,” he said.

The superstar didn’t leave without sharing an exciting update about his upcoming film King. “I’m in the middle of starting a film shoot, but when I heard IIFA is completing 25 years, I had to be here. I’m hoping to be in Jaipur on March 9 to celebrate this momentous occasion.”
The IIFA Green Challenge reflects a broader focus on sustainability, water conservation, and women empowerment, ensuring that the event not only celebrates Bollywood but also leaves a lasting impact. The conference has set the stage for a spectacular three-day extravaganza in Jaipur, where Indian cinema will be honored amidst a blend of culture, glamour, and a commitment to a greener future.
