Krakow Film Festival is one of the oldest events in the world dedicated to documentary, animated and short feature films. It core consists of three competitions of equal rank: documentary film competition, short film competition and national competition. During the eight festival days, the viewers have a chance to watch about 250 films from Poland and from around the world. They are shown in competition sections and in special screenings. Exhibitions, concerts, open-air shows and meetings with artists accompany the festival. Every year, approximately 900 Polish and international guests visit the festival: directors, producers, festival programmers and numerous Krakow audience.
During the 61st Krakow film festival, the international documentary competition collects the most moving and shocking stories that concern current social and political problems around the world, but they are also not indifferent to the fate of the individual.
“Brave bunch in India”
Brave Bunch in India is an interactive documentary for children that follows the story of an Indian Maharaja Jam Saheb Digvijaysinhji who saved the lives of nearly 1000 Polish orphans during Second World War told. It is told from the perspective of one of its survivors – Wiesiek Stypula.
