The Polish government adopted the bill, which was prepared by the Ministry of Health. The compensation benefit will be a lump sum and will be paid to the bank account. In this way, patients are to gain additional protection as a result of complications from the vaccine.
The Polish government has adopted a draft law establishing the Protective Vaccination Compensation Fund. The fund is to provide patients with the possibility of obtaining a cash benefit in the event of an adverse vaccine reaction. The Ministry of Health prepared the draft amendment to the act on preventing and combating infections and infectious diseases in humans.
Compensation benefits will be obtained by an administrative decision of the Ombudsman for Patients’ rights within the maximum 60-day time limit after considering the application. The compensation benefit will be a lump sum. Its amount will depend primarily on the length of the hospitalization period, with the lower limit of the compensation benefit being PLN 10,000 and the upper one PLN 100,000.
