One person has died and more than 450 have been admitted to hospital with an unknown disease in Andhra Pradesh, India.
During the weekend, a town in the southern state of India, collapsed and experienced seizures and nausea. A 45-year-old man admitted to hospital with this symptoms had a heart attack and died. Today, the chief minister of Andhra Pradesh, YS Jaganmohan Reddy, visited patients in hospital. This unknown illness has increased the burden on the healthcare system in Andhra Pradesh. This state in India is one of the worst affected by coronavirus with 800,000 active cases.
Tests are being done to try to determine the cause of the illness, including looking into possible food or water contamination or airborne poisoning. Some of those who collapsed complained of burning eyes. All these patients were tested for Covid-19 and it was negative, so for sure it is not corona. Media from all over the World is discussing about this new unknown illness. Few Polish media have mentioned that this illness might spread all over the World same as Covid-19.
