During Friday’s phone conversation between Polish and Indian Foreign Minister Zbigniew Rau and Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, the both of officials discussed the prospects of bilateral cooperation and a calendar of high-level political contacts.
The ministers discussed the prospects for the exchange of top-level bilateral visits and referred to EU cooperation with India in the context of preparations for the EU27-India meeting on May 8, 2021 in Porto, Portugal. Another topic was the potential for the development of the Visegrad Group’s relations with India and the Three Seas Initiative.
“We share common values, principles and interests, including promoting a rule-based global order and effective multilateralism. Based on this, we should fully use the existing, huge potential of our relationship. High-level official visits could provide a strong political impetus for our cooperation in many sectors,” the FM was quoted as saying in a communique of the Polish Ministry.
Mr Rau expressed his hope that he would be able to visit India as soon as possible, provided that the pandemic situation in both countries allows for safe travel.
