As Skoda is closing in on launching its first car under the India 2.0 program, the brand has announced the official name of the vehicle. Skoda named the concept version of the mid-size SUV as the Skoda Vision IN. The production version of the mid-size SUV will be revealed in March 2021.
The car for the Indian market will be called Kushaq. All the Skoda SUV names start with a “K” and end with a “Q”. For example, there is the Kodiaq, the Karoq, Kamiq and more. The name Kushaq comes from Sanskrit, an ancient language spoken in the Indian subcontinent. They can be translated as “king” or “ruler”. The car will be unveiled in March and will be Skoda’s third SUV in India after the Kodiaq and Karoq.
The Czechs have already announced that they will introduce three more models to the Indian market in the next 18 months. All, like the Kushaq, will be based on the MQB A0 IN floorboard, which has been designed to meet the requirements of the specific Indian market.
