India’s sports ministry has sanctioned a 40-day-long training camp for Indian wrestler Vinesh Phogat in Poland and Hungary. Personal coach Woller Akos, her sparring partner and personal physiotherapist will accompany her during the 40-day camp.
The approval was done under the “Target Olympic Podium Scheme (TOPS)” which is the Indian government’s flagship program dedicated to identifying Olympic medals and helping them train by providing financial aid. The program will cost approximately USD 21,000, includes airfare, local transportation, boarding and lodging charges, and out of pocket allowance. The government will incur the entire sum. She will be training from Jan 24, 2021 to Feb 5, 2021 at the Olympic training center in Szczryk, Poland.
