A 14-year-old student of 9th grade, Vinisha Umashankar, from Tamil Nadu,India has won the prestigious Children’s award for designing a mobile ironing cart that uses solar panels to power a steam iron box instead of using charcoal. She would receive the prize amount of 8,64,000 Indian rupees and medal from the Swedish Children’s Climate Foundation at a digital event held by Swedish Minister for Environment and Climate and Deputy Prime Minister. This is one of the world’s largest international climate awards for young innovators and this is the fifth edition of the Children’s Climate Prize.
