He is known as the father of the Indian IT industry.  He is also known as the brilliant technocrat from the Tata Electric Companies. FCK was fully involved in the decision to bring IBM to India as part of Tata-IBM in 1991. FCK was 96 years old. FCK also worked as the deputy general manager of the Tata Power Company and was the Chairman of the Board of Governors of College of Engineering, Pune. FCK pioneered India’s ‘Technology Revolution’ and helped the country build the $100-billion IT industry as first CEO of TCS.

Paying tributes to the legend, Founder Chairman of Wipro Ltd Azim Premji said, ‘His contribution to the IT industry and thus to India is immeasurable’.
