BREAKING: India Launches “Operation Sindoor” Targeting Militant Sites in Pakistan

In a dramatic escalation of regional tensions, India has launched a military strike on Pakistani territory under the codename “Operation Sindoor.” According to Indian officials, the operation targeted nine locations in Pakistan and Pakistan-administered Jammu and Kashmir, which New Delhi alleges were being used to coordinate terrorist attacks against India.

The Indian government stated that the strikes were a direct response to the April 22 massacre in Pahalgam, where 26 people were killed in what authorities have described as a terrorist assault.

“Operation Sindoor” appears to be both symbolic and strategic. The term Sindoor refers to the traditional red vermillion worn by married Hindu women, and Indian officials suggest the name was chosen to memorialize the bloodshed in Pahalgam while reinforcing a message of national resolve.

In a formal statement, India’s Ministry of Defence emphasized that the operation was “focused, measured, and non-escalatory in nature,” adding:

“No Pakistani military facilities have been targeted. India has demonstrated considerable restraint in the selection of targets and the method of execution.”

Pakistan’s military confirmed that Indian missiles struck three locations inside its territory but has yet to release details on casualties or damage.

As of now, there has been no official word on whether further actions are planned by either side.
