Winter holidays have started and will last until January 17. Due to COVID-19 pandemic, winter holidays are held for all provinces in Poland at the same time. Until now, it was forbidden for children and young people, until the age of 16 to leave home without the care of a parent or guardian between 8 am and 4 pm.

However, the government decided to ease this restriction. The Ministry of Health changes its decision on the ban of children going out from their homes alone.

‘This year, unfortunately winter holidays are not the same like before when we could spend the holidays in the mountains, in the snow, skiing. However, we would like to provide the opportunity to enjoy fresh air and allow children to simply stay outside their residence during the 8-16 hours” – Minister of Health, Adam Niedzielski.

The regulation revoking the current ban was published today (4 Jan 2021) evening in the Polish Journal of Laws.
