At Friday’s press conference, Przemyslaw Czarnek stressed that Covid-19 pandemic and distance learning had caused many problems for pupils and their parents. One of them is significant decline in student’s physical fitness. This negative phenomenon is to be countered by the announced “Active Return to School” programme.

He emphasised that it was a necessary step to the deteriorating physical fitness of young people learning remotely. The programme has been devided into two stages. The first one will include training for teachers, conducted by specialists from the University Physical Education. The second stage include sports and additional activities for pupils.

He also added that the other programmes being prepared by the ministry include psychological support for pupils, prevention of visual impairment and help in catching up with learning. The value of the implementation of the “Active Return to School”, programme is PLN 42 mln {EUR 9.17mln}.
