Accidental Beer Business to $5 Million Valuation

In a remarkable tale of entrepreneurial serendipity, Malayali Beer, co-founded by Chandramohan Nallur and Sargheve Sukumaran, has transformed from a passion project into a global sensation, boasting a valuation of $5 million. With its unique Indian-inspired flavors brewed with European techniques, the brand has become a standout in the competitive beverage industry.

A Polish Beer startup with an Indian Cultural Twist

What started as a nod to their Kerala roots has grown into an international brand. “Beyond its name, signifying my native land, the beer’s appeal lies in its Indian-inspired flavors. This differentiates it and builds an engaged consumer following,” Nallur explained. The brand saw a 30% sales surge in its second year, setting the stage for global expansion.

Major Gulf Expansion and Global Growth

Building on its success, Malayali Beer is now primed for a significant entry into the Gulf market, bolstered by a ₹9 crore investment from a regional angel investor. This funding will fuel increased production and enable expansion into high-growth markets, including the US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and Southeast Asia, by 2025.

Strategic partnerships with ADMMI for the UAE and Africa and with Eastern for Bahrain have solidified the brand’s presence in these regions. Earlier in 2024, Malayali Beer successfully debuted in the UK market, where it quickly gained traction among consumers and distributors.

The Visionary Behind the Brand

Chandramohan Nallur, a serial entrepreneur and social activist from Kozhikode, is no stranger to breaking barriers. His ventures span industries, and his leadership as the youngest Director of the Indo-Polish Chamber of Commerce and Industries has already earned him international recognition. Recently featured in the prestigious EuropeIndia40 Leaders List, Nallur has become a celebrated figure in bridging cultures and championing Indian interests abroad.

Despite his diverse achievements, Malayali Beer holds a special place in Nallur’s heart. “The name of the product reflects my love for my fellow Malayalis,” he shared. Yet, the beer’s universal appeal underscores its potential to transcend cultural boundaries and become a global favorite.

From Poland to the World stage!

Malayali Beer’s journey is not just a business story but a testament to innovation rooted in heritage. What began as a tribute to Kerala’s culture is now a brand with international acclaim, poised to disrupt the global beer market.

As the company sets its sights on new horizons, the “accidental beer business” turned $5 million enterprise exemplifies the power of vision, resilience, and a deep connection to one’s roots.
